Through partnership with the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and the Paul Mellon Collection, the Art Center is pleased to offer a rotation of exhibits, speakers, and workshops on loan from our state's capital.
Famous artist Sidney King was commissioned by the National Park Service to paint battlefield scenes at over 200 locations in the United States. For the first time ever, twelve of these paintings highlighting Civil War battles in Virginia are on exhibit under one roof.
Sidney King and fellow Caroline resident and artist Salvador Dali have artifacts and paintings on display. Also, paintings from artists throughout Virginia in the gift shop are for sale.
One room of the center is devoted to Caroline County artifacts collected by the oldest historical society in Virginia.
